See some of our FAQs on how to launch a beauty brand and UK Personal Care Regulations below:

What documentation do I need to sell the products?

Technical documentation including the PIF summary, SDS, and Specification INCI are held by IRIS. All products are already tested and registered in line with UK self-care product regulations so you’re ready to launch your body or hair care brand

Do I have to get the products tested and approved before I can sell them?

There’s no need to do that! Our standard formulations have already been approved and tested to meet UK Regulations - saving you time and money!

Do I need to register my personal care products on the UK cosmetic portal?

We have already registered all the products from the IRIS website, so you don’t need to. This also means that you don't have to worry about any technical documentation such as PIF summary, SDS, Specification & INCI when you launch a beauty brand, they are held by IRIS Private Label.

What preservatives do you use?

We use a combination of Ethylhexylglycerin and Phenoxyethanol, a globally approved paraben-free preservative effective against bacterial, yeast, and fungal growth.

Although synthetically mass-produced, phenoxyethanol is found in nature in plants such as green tea and chicory. The levels we use are within UK self-care product regulations, ensuring our products remain safe and protected against microorganisms.

What is the shelf life of your products?

All IRIS formulations have passed 12-week stability testing, allowing for a 30-month shelf life. Therefore, an expiry date is not required on product labels. A period after opening (PAO) symbol is required, which varies depending on packaging type:

Closed container = 12M

Open container = 6M
